Jerry Douglas Thomas, 75, husband of Judy Thomas, died on Saturday, April 20, 2024. A lifelong resident of Oconee County, he was the son of the late James Douglas Thomas and M. Nell Brewer Thomas. Jerry served in the US Navy and was a member of Antioch Christian Church. As a truck driver for 54 years he had worked for Scales Express and Dowell Express. Survivors in addition to his wife Judy include three children: David (Jill) Perry, Tina Gearing and Karen (Jimmy) Parker; eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 3PM at the Thomas Cotton Gin, 3783 Greensboro Highway, Watkinsville, GA 30677. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, EAST, Athens, GA is in charge of arrangements. www.lordandstephens.com
