It is with a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Jerry Len Walker, who left this world on December 18, 2025. Born on September 15, 1946, Jerry lived a meaningful life, notably retired from a distinguished career in finance. Known for his thoughtful nature and dedication, Jerry leaves behind a legacy of integrity and commitment in both his professional and personal pursuits.
Jerry was an avid enthusiast of life. He embraced a variety of hobbies and interests that showcased his adventurous spirit, including sailing, golf, and hunting. Also as a pilot, he enjoyed the freedom of the skies, and his passion for motorcycles further illustrated his love for exploration and adventure.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Debby M. Walker, who stood by his side through life’s many joys and challenges. He was a devoted father to his son, Craig Walker and daughters, Kelly Shanklin (Dale) and Wendy Walker (Byron Yount) and son, Todd Larson (Erica). Sibling bonds were cherished, with his sisters, Glenda Edwards (Don), and Mary Jane Walker, being uplifting forces in his life.
As a revered grandfather, affectionately known as ‘Papa,’ Jerry is remembered fondly by his grandchildren, Leif Sletten, Liam Sletten, Jared Kiser, Samara Yount, Saylor Yount, Bodhi Yount, Eileen Owens (Gabe) and Cameron Larsen. He also leaves behind a loving nephew, John Seaman (Jennifer) along with a niece, Lori Crislip.
Jerry's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Aveanna Hospice of Montgomery and everyone involved in his care for their support and compassion during this difficult time.
Though there are no services planned, those who knew and loved Jerry will carry his memory in their hearts. He was a remarkable man whose zest for life and kindness to others will not be forgotten.
