Jerry Lane Whaley

Jerry Lane Whaley was born on February 9, 1978 in the Kremmling Colorado. Jerry was raised in Phippsburg, Colorado by parents, Lynn and Charlotte Whaley. Jerry is the youngest of three boys and possibly the toughest unless you talk to the older brothers Dusty and Jay. Jerry loved his childhood. He grew up hunting, fishing and cowboying. He especially loved riding his horses on the flat tops. In high school, Jerry was active in the future farmers of America and found a love for wrestling. He was not a good wrestler, he was a great wrestler! Jerry went onto win two high school state titles in 1995 and 1996.
After Jerry graduated high school from Soroco in 1996, he went on to wrestle on scholarship at Western Wyoming. Jerry suffered a knee injury and decided to go another direction.
Jerry went to work for Kiewit companies in 1997 and worked his way up through the company for 28 years. Jerry started as an operator, then foreman and superintendent.
Jerry Whaley married Heather Matney on July 29, 2000. They reunited at a restaurant one evening in Glenwood, Colorado. When Jerry went up to talk to her, Heather remembered him from high school as "that cocky little wrestler", but decided to take him up on his offer for a date. The rest is history. Treyston and Braedon was born in January of 2001. Garrett was born in June of 2002 and Cai was born in September of 2004. Heather and Jerry live in the black forest near Colorado Springs and all four boys graduated from Peyton high school.
Jerry loved his boys, his wife, his mom, dad, brother, nieces, and nephews, family and friends and 97-year-old grandma great(Verna Whaley). We all are suffering a great loss. Let's all remember how Jerry has touched our lives, make it a point to stay in touch and celebrate the time we had.
