Jerry Marc Wolfson, a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, in
Scottsdale, Arizona, at the age of 64. Born on June 27, 1961, in
Brooklyn, New York, to Barney and Fran Wolfson, Jerry was a man of intelligence, optimism, and kindness whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.
Jerry was born in Brooklyn, but his family moved to California in 1964. His elementary and Middle School years were spent in the San Fernando Valley, until his family again moved, this time to
Phoenix, AZ in 1976.
His passion for technology led him to pursue a degree in Computer Science at Northern Arizona University, where he not only honed his skills but also formed and enhanced lifelong friendships. After graduation, Jerry moved to
Denver, CO where he embarked on a successful career as a computer engineer, a field that perfectly suited his curious and innovative nature.
Throughout his career, Jerry was known for his exceptional problem-solving abilities and his willingness to help colleagues and friends with any technical issues. His work was more than just a job; it was a calling that allowed him to leave his mark on the world through the numerous projects he contributed to.
Jerry's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Lisa Salzman (Michael Salzman), and a doting grandfather to Sophia and Samuel Salzman. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment he spent with his grandchildren, whether it was playing games with them or simply enjoying their company.
He was also a beloved brother to Beth Wolfson and Jacqueline Tancos. The bond he shared with his sisters was one of mutual respect and affection, and they stood by each other through life's ups and downs.
As a die-hard Dodger fan, Jerry never missed a game and could often be found debating stats and plays with anyone who shared his passion for baseball or didn't. His loyalty to his team was unwavering, and his optimistic spirit never faltered, even when the odds were against them.
Another lifelong passion of Jerry's was The Beatles. As a boy he proudly sported "the haircut", eager to emulate his musical heroes. Later, as a father, he tried to pass his love along to his daughter during the sacred tradition of Sunday Beatles Brunch. Conversation during a Beatles song, however, was strictly discouraged – Jerry would jokingly warn that anyone who talked while The Beatles were playing could end up in jail.
Those who knew Jerry would describe him as a true "computer nerd," but this term of endearment only scratched the surface of who he was. He was a man who could light up a room with his wit, warmth, and the gentle timbre of his laughter. His intelligence was matched only by his heart, and his optimistic outlook on life was contagious.
Jerry's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the pursuit of knowledge. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit will continue to live on in the cherished memories he created with his family and friends.
As we say goodbye to Jerry Marc Wolfson, we celebrate the remarkable life he lived and the countless ways in which he made our world a better place. May his memory be a blessing, and may he rest in peace.
