Jerry Leon Young, age 74, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026, in Bowie, Texas. Born on January 14, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, Jerry led a life marked by strength and self-reliance. He was known as a strong solitary man who found joy in his hobbies of hunting and fishing, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and reflect on life.
Jerry's legacy is carried on by his loving family. He is survived by his son, Brian Young; his brother, Bill Young; as well as his nephews, David Young and his wife, April, and Derek Young. Additionally, he proudly leaves behind his great-nephews, Travis and Trevor, and great-nieces, Trinity and Violet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie Lee Young and Alice Lena (Combs) Young, who shaped the values and independence that characterized Jerry's life.
Jerry's absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him, but his spirit will endure in the memories shared with family and friends.
