Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear......
I met Jeri when I started working at Palos Hospital, she was one of the little elves of the department. We became friends and shared lots of laughs. When we could we went out for lunches or dinners or gathered for Game Nights. Jeri worked Crossword puzzles to keep her mind healthy, little did we know that her body was failing. I brought her some crossword puzzles (which I could never do?) and she told me to take them back, they were too easy! I accompanied her to her water aerobics and that was always a happening experience? I remember one Christmas Party, we almost came to blows over a white elephant, but, Jeri was the victor. Jeri was a very strong and brave woman. She lived a life with fibromyalgia. Three years ago she struggled with the loss of her son Brian and with that the loss of her 2 Grandsons, Brayden and Graysen, but, she did survive. Jeri loved her trips with Kelly to Mexico and lately Florida. She was very proud of Kelly and so sorry to be leaving her and Harper and of course, Freddie. She supplied the Palos girls with Enquirers, Stars and People Magazines (now we'll have to buy our own). Jeri was again, very brave and strong even when receiving her diagnosis. She lived out her last days with strength and dignity and I only hope when it's my time, I can do the same. I will miss her greatly and only hope that she is at peace now with Brian.
