Jess Barker

Jess Barker, 63, of Lumberport, passed away on April 1, 2024. He was born in Clarksburg on April 26, 1960, a son to the late Billy Barker and Mary E. Gump Barker. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Sharon Kay Boyce, brother Robert Barker, and sisters Carol Ann Shaw and Yvonne Barker.
He is survived by his wife, Joanetta Barker, whom he married on March 8, 1980; daughter Jessica Helms of Shinnston and her children Gage Helms and Celine Simmons; son Michael Barker (Jennifer) of New Cumberland and son David Barker (Keely) of Wallace and their children Jess, Harmony, and Catelyn Barker; brother Burl Barker of Wallace, sister Elizabeth Barker of Indiana, sister Becky Chapman (Tanis) of Wallace, brothers Billy Jean Barker and Steven Barker of Wallace; and several nieces and nephews.
Jess worked for John Kovach Memorials where he made vaults. He was big into hunting and fishing, enjoyed camping with his family, and loved taking care of his grandchildren.
Friends will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 1:00PM-5:00PM. A funeral service will directly follow at 5:00PM.
