Jesse R. Gonzalez was born on January 3, 1987 and tragically departed on February 18, 2024 at the young age of 37.
He is preceded in death by his father Jerry Gonzales, sister Rosie Reyes, and brother Jerry Gonzales.
He is survived by his mother Bernice Recio and his wife Kalyn Yeley and their daughter Leaven Gonzalez, brother Jacob Recio and his wife Gloria Recio, brother David Gonzales and his wife Samantha Gonzales, brother Adrian Gonzales and his wife Monica Jimenez, and his sister in law Ebony Ruiz, numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and life long friends.
Jesse was a logical man, a lover of music and books, and of course a good movie. He was smart and gifted. He saw the world differently. Like when an elementary school teacher asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up? He said "To be happy".
Jesse was a San Antonio native and life long Spurs fan. He loved going to shows and was the unofficially 4th member of his friends' band. He was dedicated to his work and pushed for change, giving almost 14 years at the SASSLC. He loved a good Philly and sweet tea ran through his veins. Jesse was the jokester, and was always trying to make someone laugh or get a reaction out of someone to make himself laugh. Many years ago he would go to parties dressed up and the Dog Wilfred just to see what he could get away with.
Jesse supported his people. He was an amazing son to his Mother. He would drop everything to help family or a friend or even a stranger on the street. He always tried to brighten up anyone's day. Human connection was important to him. He always felt that we don't talk enough so he made it a point to stop and strike up a conversation with anyone he could.
Above all else Jesse was the best Father and Husband. He always made sure his little family was taken care of. He never missed a doctor's appointment during their pregnancy and later on any school or sport event for his daughter. Time with them was the most important thing to him.
Jesse was taken from us far too soon. He is missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

I can't believe you are gone. Lossing a someone Always hits home when you have gotten an opportunity to form a bond with them. Jesse was always a man who would notice when anything was different about person. He would take time out of his day to figure out what he could do to assist. Jesse would put the effort in to make them feel at ease weather it be a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or a helping hand. In my years at SASSLC Jesse has done all of these for the consumers and I. Jesse has brought such joy and laughter to my life in my hard times, so many times I can't count them all. I am so greatly blessed to have gotten to know Jesse he was truly a blessing to those around him. Praise God. My heart and prayers go out to his Lovely wife Kaley and beautiful baby girl Leaven.
