Jesse Henman Obituary

Jesse J. Henman, Jr., age 76, passed away on February 5, 2026, in Jackson, Michigan. Born to Jesse J. Henman, Sr. and Gunda Feulner Henman, Jesse grew up in Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School in 1967. Shortly after, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as part of the Military Police. Following his honorable discharge, Jesse continued a life of service by becoming a Corrections Officer with the State of Michigan, where he dedicated many years until his retirement.
Jesse married the love of his life, Diane Henman, and together they shared 28 wonderful years before her passing in 2013. They enjoyed bowling, time with their blended family, and the simple joy of being together. Outside of family and bowling, Jesse found great happiness on the golf course.
Jesse is survived by his children: Jamie and Shannon Henman and their children Nick, Payton, and Riley; Dan Gennety and his daughters Abbee and Alyssa; daughterinlaw Susan Abbee; Amy and John Rogers and their children Jenna, Nathan, and Marcy; and Jeff Henman and his children Jessica, Raechal, Leah, and Austin. He is also survived by several greatgrandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins Dave Henman, Mike Henman, Ron Henman & Rose Nyeholt, his brotherinlaw Mike Schoendorf, and sisters-in-law Karen Dewey, Pat Donal and Nancy and Alfred Dubois.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Diane; his parents; sisters Sharon Schoendorf and Karen Little; brother Tim Salyer and newborn son Russell.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Vista Grand Villa for their exceptional care, compassion and kindness they showed Jesse through his illness. Their support brought comfort not only to him, but to all who loved him, and will always be remembered with deep appreciation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Earlier today

Jamie, Shannon and Dan ~ I do not have the words to express how saddened I am for the loss of Jessie. So many wonderful memories at the bowling alley and on the golf course. Jess & Diane were such a staple in the lives of our bowling family and we were all blessed to love them. Thank you so much for sharing your Dad with so many of us, he was a one of a kind, gentle giant. My condolences to you and your family at this difficult time. Jess will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace Jess Henman, I will see you on the other side...

This was so sad to see. Jesse was an absolute gentleman and just great guy to work and golf with. He wasn't too shaby on the bowling lanes either. God Bless You Jess. Sorry we missed each other years ago at Snug Harbor Lakes Florida when we were only a couple of blocks apart. I would've loved to have had a brew with you and Whitey Ford (long ago pitching star of the New York Yankees) at your watering hole. Rest easy my friend. May God Bless You and Your Family.
