Jesse Lee Maynard Jr.

Jesse Lee Maynard, Jr., 77, of Kenova, WV went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 11, 2025 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne, WV with Elders Charley Lucas, Jr. and Don Napier officiating. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova with the U.S. Army and American Legion Post 93 conducting military graveside rites. He was born April 26, 1947 in Wayne County, WV, a son of the late Jesse and Goldie Maynard. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, then came home to marry his high school sweetheart, Carolyn and go on to have two children, Jessica and Delsie. A dedicated servant to the Lord, a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and a true friend to so many. He served as a deacon for many years at Philadelphia United Baptist Church, as well as several decades as treasurer. He was also a proud member of the Wayne County Veteran's Association and loved spending time golfing and woodworking. In addition to his parents, Jesse was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eulah Stevens and Inez Thompson, and a brother, Thomas Maynard. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Auxier Maynard; two daughters, Jessica Ramey and husband Chris and Delsie LeMaster and husband Jeff; a grandson, Ethan LeMaster; a sister, Nary Lucas; and a brother, Victor Maynard and wife Kim. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 Monday, April 14, 2025 at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne.
