Jesse "Marty" Martin Nipper Jr., 81, of Lillington entered his heavenly home on Friday, October 11, 2024 at his home in Lillington, NC.
Jesse was born June 22, 1943 in Harnett County to the late Jesse Martin Nipper Sr. and Ruby Lowery Nipper. Jesse was married to wife Judy for over 50 years. He was a graduate of Lillington High School Class of 1961 and worked as plant manager for Angus Fire Armour in Angier and later for PHC restoration.
Jesse was a phenomenal athlete, he played both basketball and football for Lillington high school. Later he passed his love for sports down to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On a Friday night or Saturday morning you could find Marty cheering at one of his grandchildren or great grandchildren's ball games. Jesse was an avid UNC Tarheel and Nascar fan. Many of Jesse's weekends were spent on the water at White Lake teaching his kids and grandkids how to ski.
Jesse was preceded in death by his step-daughter, Donna Ferrell; grandson, Kyle Ferrell; and great grandson, Jesse Lee Garner. Jesse is survived by his wife, Judith Baker Nipper; sons, Timothy Nipper (Robin), Thomas Ray Nipper (Jean), and daughter, Wendy Nipper Polky (Joe); brother, Billy Nipper; step-sons, Freddy Frye (Sheila), and Stanley Frye (June); fourteen grandchildren; and twenty one great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held 11am Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Lillington Baptist Church, 201 W. Lofton St., Lillington, NC 27546 with Rev. Roger Moss and Rev. Ken Dalton officiating. Burial will follow the service at Westview Cemetery in Lillington. The family will receive friends 10:00am – 10:45am prior to the service at the church.
