Jesse William Sefert, age 50, of New Philadelphia, died at home on Friday, April 14, 2023 following a sudden cardiac event.
Jesse was born on October 22, 1972 in Rome, New York, the son of Harley and Sue Sefert. He graduated from Tusky Valley High School in 1991. He was a realtor with McInturf Realty and had been a licensed realtor since 1998. In addition to selling real estate and owning several rental properties, he always enjoyed his "side projects." Over the years that grew from restoring motorcycles and cars to flipping homes. He was invested in his community and excited to watch it grow. He was a member of many local committees, where he shared his knowledge and volunteered his time at several events and fundraisers for many years.
Jesse loved his family more than anything and the void he leaves in his loved ones' lives is unimaginable. He went out of his way every day to make each one feel special and loved. Michelle and their children were his world and he supported them in every way possible. His "To Do" list for the day rarely got completed. Each day he came home and shared who he ran into that day and what was going on in their lives. Through the outpouring of messages, it's evident that his gifts of time, guidance and making people feel special, were not only extended to his family and friends, but to everyone he ran into each and every day.
He is survived by his parents; fiancé, Michelle DeCourcy; children, Ainsley (Seth) Sefert, Alaina Sefert, Ryleigh (Zane) Meechan and Reise Meechan; his best friend and brother, Chris (Tami) Sefert; sister, Tina (Bill Titus) Brammer; in-laws, Tim and Julie Beal, and Carl (Lisa) DeCourcy; three step-grandchildren, Kaileb, Daniel and Patrick; nieces and nephews, Ryan (Joy), Josh (Khristen), Faith (Blake), Lucas (Mikayla), Linzi, Chyenne, Cauy (Aleigha), Chandra (Benjamin), Jaquelyn and Colin; and six great-nieces and nephews, plus one more due in July.
Jesse would not want those who knew and loved him to mourn his loss for long. He would rather everyone to continue to grow and thrive, tell a story with a smile, extend generosity to a stranger and maybe raise a glass of bourbon in his honor.
Cremation has taken place through the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia, and a celebration of life is planned for the near future.

Michelle, I am deeply saddened by your loss. Jesse was a really great guy who would do anything for anyone. I´ve known him since you two dated back in the old Italian Oven restaurant days many years ago. Every time I saw him he would always remember me and ask how I was doing. He´s going to be sadly missed.
