PHILIP ALAN ROBINS

August 30, 2025

I only met JC once, at a youth baseball game, in Atlantic Beach FL where his son Jason played with my son Alan on a team I coached. They were probably 12 years old. Jason was our best pitcher and could really bring the fast ball. I was coaching him up during the game, fiddling with his wind up and delivery. In between innings JC came up to me and introduced himself and asked that I don't change Jason's pitching delivery, because he had been working with him for years. During our conversation the fact he was a touring gold pro and nephew of the great Slammin' Sam Snead came up. I was in awe because Sam was one of my favorites and also one of my Dad's. He never mentioned he had been a minor league player in the Senator's organization! ha ha I just learned of his dearth today, and this story immediately came to mind. God bless Jason and the whole family.
