Jesse Vargas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Pflugerville on Mar. 19, 2026.
Jesse F. Vargas, known affectionately as Jesse "JV Jags" to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, in Pflugerville, Texas, at the age of 69. Born on May 27, 1956, in San Antonio, Texas, Jesse was a man of spirited character, whose thoughtful and passionate nature touched the lives of those around him. Jesse's early years were spent in the vibrant city of San Antonio, where he was surrounded by a loving family.

Though he was preceded in death by his mother, Delia Flores, his father, Jesus Vargas, his sister, Debra Vargas, and his brother, Michael A. Vargas, Jesse's legacy continues through his cherished son, Steve Loera, his sister, Sandra, and husband, Conrad Gonzales, as well as his adoring nieces and nephews: Laura Gonzales, Michael R. Vargas, Julianne and husband Joey Escamilla, Jordaan Hefner, and Devon and wife Kailey Hefner.

Jesse's professional journey was as diverse as it was fulfilling. He started his career as a machinist at Kelly AFB, demonstrating an inherent skill for working with his hands. This skill would guide him through various phases of his career, including a successful stint in appliance repair. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own business in appliance and HVAC sales and repair. With a constant desire to grow and evolve, Jesse pursued an Associate of Applied Science in CAD Design, which opened the door for his role as a CAD Designer in the oil and gas industry in Pflugerville.

In his later years, he followed his lifelong passion for automobiles by opening JV Motorworld, a testament to his love for cars. Jesse's interests extended beyond his professional life. He was a dedicated family man who relished in the joy of spending time with his loved ones. His hands, always skilled and ready to create or repair, were most content when working on his prized Buick Riviera. His presence was a highlight at car shows, where he not only entered his beloved vehicles but also enjoyed the camaraderie and shared enthusiasm of fellow car aficionados.

Travel was another of Jesse's pleasures, as he loved visiting beloved friends, exploring new places and experiencing the diverse cultures of the world. Those who knew Jesse would describe him as a man who was as handy as he was passionate. His thoughtful approach to life's challenges and his unwavering dedication to his pursuits were truly inspiring. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail."

Jesse embodied this spirit, leaving an indelible trail of memories and accomplishments that will continue to guide and influence his family and all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Jesse F. Vargas will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will live on through the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the love he gave. His was a life well-lived, full of purpose and brimming with passion. As we bid farewell to Jesse, we take comfort in knowing that his legacy is one of love, hard work, and the courage to follow one's dreams.
