Jesse was born on July 10, 1931, to Theodore Walker and Ethel Smith. He married Ruthie Jenkins in Clovis, NM on September 13, 1956. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Jesse worked at Big Country Ford for forty-five years. He was a member of St. Johns Baptist Church and served under the leadership of the late Rev. F. R. Williams, and the current shepherd of the family of believers Pastor Kent C. Creamer. Jesse also served in the ministry as a Sunday School Teacher, Finance Committee Member, Sunday School Superintendent, Bible Training Union Teacher, a Laymen Member, and as a Custodian for the Church. He loved working on cars, working in the yard, reading his Bible, watching Boxing, Western Shows, the Dallas Cowboys Football Team on TV, listening to Gospel and Jazz music. However, Jesse's greatest joy came with spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. His favorite quote was, "Never too old to learn".
Jesse's Survivors include his sons; James Walker (wife Sharon), Curtis Walker, Jewel Walker (wife Elvia), Marvin Walker and Jesse Lee Walker. His daughters include; Carolyn Phillips (husband Bryian), Patricia Walker, Gloria Walker, Brenda Gutierrez (husband Anthony), Mechelle Hamilton (husband Donald), Linda McPherson (husband David), 31 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his wife; Ruthie Walker, parents; Theodore W. Walker and Ethel Smith, brothers; Jerry L. Smith, Sammie Smith, Sisters; Geneva Guston, Barbara Stepton and Sedila Hodges, grandson; Bryian Phillips Jr., son; David L. Walker, and Roy Brown.
