Jesse Sue Wheeler. Passed away on September 23, 2024, at age 92, peacefully in her sleep after eating her favorite meal, breakfast. She was born on September 5, 1932, as Jesse Sue Roberts to Henry and Belva Roberts in Cottontown, TN. She was one of 7 kids. The only one to graduate from Gallatin High School. She was in the band and Beta. She was very proud of this. Married to Bob Wheeler Jr in 1953, they had two children, Vernon and Linda. She worked at Washington Manufacturing and Thomas Nelson and left there to take care of her mother. She loved spending time with her family. She was an avid Titans Fan and loved spending time gardening.
She was preceded in death by her Father, Mother, 5 of her Brothers and sisters, and her Husband of 41 years. Survivors left to mourn her passing are her Daughter Linda Pierce (Carl), and her Son Vernon Wheeler, many granddaughters and great-grandchildren, her Brother Donald Roberts (Jewell) and their son of Cottontown, TN, her Sister-In-Law Birdy Johnson of Donelson, and many nieces and nephews. She had battled for over 3 years with Alzheimer's.
Visitation with the family will be held with the family on Thursday, September 26, 2024, from 4 PM - 7 PM with Funeral Service immediately following at 7 PM, at Boyd Funeral Home, 101 Elizabeth St., Ashland City, TN 37015. Interment will be at 10 AM, Friday, September 27, 2024, at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN 37221.
