Jessica Hanna Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Southfield Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Southfield on Apr. 9, 2024.
On the eve of April 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family, Jessica Hanna peacefully went to her eternal reward. In December 2020 Jessica was diagnosed with breast cancer while only 14 weeks pregnant with her 4th child. She was determined to bring her son into the world and conquer cancer with the help of God's immense mercy and grace. Surgery while pregnant revealed a large tumor with 43 lymph nodes positive, and she was deemed likely terminal. After boldly uniting her Cross with Christ, running to the Sacraments and help from the power of prayer, Jessica was miraculously clear of all cancer two weeks after the birth of her son, Thomas. Unfortunately, on December 12, 2022 cancer had returned stage 4 and terminal. After quickly spreading to many more lymph nodes, bones and lung, Jessica's overall health declined in early 2024 and ultimately the aggressive cancer spread to her brain.
Well known for her multiple talents, attributes, infectious personality, and sense of humor, she was most known for her unwavering empathy towards others. Jessica had a unique way to make everybody she came across feel loved, cared for, and important. In her last years this genuine love for others spread like wildfire as an online ministry to help save souls. With God's grace she succeeded beyond what even she could have imagined. Her witness of redemptive suffering has helped thousands around the world strengthen their faith, and will continue to do so after her death.
Loving wife and best friend of Lamar with whom she shared 12 years of marriage. Cherished mother of Christopher, Mary, Joseph, and Thomas. Precious daughter of Marie Peters and Camille Peters. Adored Sister of Sharon (Sam), Robert (Margie), Lindsey (Dylan).Loving daughter in law of Laith and Zinah Hanna and dear sister in law to Mark (Sarah) and Andrew (Gabriella.) She will also be missed dearly by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends. A truly remarkable woman, Jessica's legacy will live on through all who were blessed to know her.

A true servant of our Lord, Jessica taught so many, including myself, that there is beauty in suffering when united to our Lord's suffering. Her ability to love her cross while at the same time taking time to pray for others was inspiring. Thank you Jessica for your sweet message and the prayers for my family. Onward sister in Christ!

Firstly.. My condolences to the family.. I didn't know Mrs.Hanna only through her Instagram.. in the short time I knew of her I felt she was special and that we had a saintly woman in our midst..
She touched me and others deeply with her love for Christ and of her suffering with such grace. One doesn't see that kind of holiness very often..
May God accept her into His Kingdom and may she rest in peace.. in Jesus name Amen!

I found Jessica on instagram 2 years ago when I was diagnosed with precancerous cells in my uterus. Being able to pray along on her lives helped me feel less alone in my situation. She definitely taught me to be less of a victim of my circumstances and realize that God had something greater for me. Her death really shook me since I felt she was so deserving of healing. Her passing taught me a lot about accepting God's will and carrying my cross with grace.

I loved Jessica and didn´t even know her personally only followed her on Instagram. She continues to be my inspiration to know how to suffer with grace. I have admired and have been inspired by her wisdom and love for Christ, Mother Mary and the saints. I was deeply hurt that she left us but I am so happy that she is rejoicing with our Lord. That is our goal! She left us with so many beautiful quotes, videos and memories to reflect on . May God bless the Hanna family and receive spiritual healing and strength through our prayers ! God bless you!

Jessica continues to teach me so much about my Catholic faith as I continue to watch her on Instagram. Each and every post she shared is priceless. She had such dignity as she carried her own cross always thinking of others and pointing me towards God. I will never forget the 2nd Glorious Mystery of the rosary The Ascension as she so beautifully described it and reminded me I will never be alone as Jesus apostles were never alone. To her family my sincere condolences. Jessica will always be in my heart. I feel like I know her even though I never met her. My heart and prayers are with you. May you find comfort in our Heavenly Father, Blessed Mother and all the saints who have welcomed her home. Rest in peace sweet Jessica

Thank you, Jessica, for helping me through my dad's diagnosis and his death. You comforted me with your words of hope, while you, yourself, were suffering. You taught me to find the joy in suffering, to unite it with Jesus' cross, and to work on myself because "we are all terminal." I love you, sis. Your family is forever in my prayers. Pray for us, sweet Jess.

Came to know Jessica through my friend Jennifer Nelson. Praying with Jessica on IG became part of my journey. I will always Be grateful for this Devotion and will always pray for Jessica during that Chaplet and she and her family will remain in my prayers. I know you will be praying for us from His Kingdom

My dear Jessica - I didn´t know you in person but I was following you on Instagram. You were truly a witness of Christ, showing people all around the world that we are all called to sainthood. Your love towards your husband, children and everyone else, your devotion to Our Lord, Eucharist and bringing as many people to God as possible was incredible. You will be greatly missed and I hope to develop such love, such devotion, endurance and grace in suffering as you showed.

I pray for consolation and graces for Lamar and your little ones. Let me say farewell with the lyrics of Catholic hymn we sing on funerals in my country, Poland:

" Come from heaven at the sound of our prayers,
Inhabitants of glory, all saints of God;
Descend from bright clouds, O angels,
Hasten to meet with the redeemed.
Chorus: Let the angelic procession receive your soul,
Lift it from the earth to the heights of heaven,
And let the song of the redeemed lead it,
Until before the face of the Most High God.
May Christ, exalted, welcome you,
He called you to the kingdom of light.
May the merciful Mother come out to meet you
On the threshold of the Father's house.
Radiant Christ, Divine Savior,
The only light that knows no dusk,
Be for this soul eternal rest,
Allow it to behold the glory of Your majesty."

Rest in Peace.

My deepest condolence to the family. I am one of Jessica's followers on social media whom she helped find her way back to God after my own diagnosis. She was a blessing to me and I am very greatful to have met her even if it was online. Her presence was felt through the screen. May you rest in peace. My prayers will be with you and your family. Thank you for everything you did for me Jessica.
