Gary Richard Hanna, 89, of Mill Creek, IN, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Ernestine M. Raclin Hospice House in Mishawaka, IN.

Gary was born on June 29, 1936, in New Waterford, OH, to Floyd H. and Bernice L. (Todd) Hanna.

Surviving Gary are his sister, Sandra (Terry) Smith of Plymouth; stepchildren, David Salzer of Nokomis, FL, Debora Tener of Mill Creek, Rick Salzer of Mill Creek, Susan Salzer Fowler of Mill Creek, and Sherry (Randy) Taylor of La Porte; sister-in-law, Phyllis Hanna of La Porte; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Karol K. (Rensberger) Hanna; second wife, Clara "Lucille" Salzer Hamilton Hanna; infant daughter, Karen K. Hanna; and brothers, Charles P. Hanna, Robert L. Hanna and Brian L. Hanna.

Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He graduated from Mill Creek High School and later became a truck driver. Gary was a great man with a generous heart. His family was blessed to have him in their lives.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. Burial at Oak Grove Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in c/o Rick Salzer, 2900 Monroe St., La Porter, IN or to the donor's choice.
