Jessie Elaine Boltjes

Jessie Elaine Boltjes passed away on November 15, 2025 at the Platte Care Center at the age of 91. She was born to Henry and Jessie (Bult) Bultsma on December 22, 1933. Funeral services will be held at the Platte Christian Reformed Church at 10:30 A.M on Thursday, November 20, 2025.

Elaine attended Platte country schools and graduated from Platte High School in 1952. She attended Southern State Teachers College in Springfield, SD.

Elaine married Clarence Boltjes at Platte Christian Reformed Church on March 5, 1954. Elaine taught in country schools around the Platte, SD area. She then raised her family. Elaine worked at Booms Drive-In for many years, where she said, "If you have time to lean you have time to clean." She also helped Clarence mow at the Platte City Cemetery for many years.

Elaine was a member of Platte Christian Reformed Church .

Grateful for having shared in Elaine's life are her children: Gary (Kathy) Boltjes, Craig Boltjes, Tami Boltjes, Steve (Erica) Boltjes, Tom (Vickie) Boltjes all of Platte, SD; ten grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren; and four siblings: Lorena Overweg, Geneva Overweg, Delores Sorvaag and Lloyd Bultsma.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her parents Henry and Jessie Bultsma, daughter Darla Kay Boltjes, two great grandchildren London Swenson and Reece Reiser, brothers Ted, Frank, and Larry Bultsma, and many brothers- and sisters-in-law.
