Jessie Leveillee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home on Apr. 21, 2025.
Jessie Ruth Leveillee passed into the arms of her loving Savior on April 21, 2025. Jessie was born February 13, 1930 to Eunice Marie and Harley Francis Brush inside her parents' farm home in Berlin, Ohio. At four years-old she was adopted into the Miller family of Millersburg, Ohio due to Great Depression financial hardships. Jessie graduated from Berlin High School in 1948, and soon moved to Southern California to be with her soon-to-be-husband William M. Stewart. She raised three boys; Roy, and identical twins Kent and Keith Stewart.
Jessie was forced to raise her boys alone after separating from William in the mid-1950s. She was a determined and dedicated mother to her boys, and they never wanted for the essentials of life. She worked many hours at skilled and unskilled jobs for some years before she became an electronic assembly technician for Lockheed Corporation in Ontario, California where she put together circuit boards that ended up in the Gemini rocket program control panels and spacecraft.
With her boys successfully raised and on their own, Jessie married again in 1973 to Edgar Leveillee, and she and Ed traveled the country for several years in a small RV, seeing many parts of the country where she and Ed were raised, and had friends and family, as well as many other states in between. In their later years they settled for a number of years in Springfield, Oregon, where they enjoyed many friendships in a large senior adult community. Ed passed from this earth in 2009, and Jessie once again was on her own, living near Kent and Annie Stewart in Southern California.
In 2016 Jessie moved closer to her oldest son in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but reached a level of medical impairment that made it impossible to remain on her own, and she entered an assisted living home in Lima, Ohio to be near her younger half-brother Boyd Burkey. She spent her final years surrounded by loving and caring staff and at Wyngate Senior Living and Springview Manor of Lima. She is survived by her half-brother Paul Burkey of Munford, TN, half-brother Boyd and niece Joy Frail both of Lima, and her three sons, Roy Stewart and wife Jill of Plainview, TX, Kent Stewart and wife Annie of Monterey, TN and Keith Stewart and wife Deanna of Vancouver, WA.
Cremation has taken place. Cremains will be interred next to her beloved husband Edgar in the National Cemetery at Willamette, Oregon at a later time.
