Jessie Faye Jones Lineberger, 98, of Catawba, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 12, 2026.
Born in Opelika, Alabama, Faye was the daughter of the late Roy C. Jones and Jewell Lynch Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Hoffman Lineberger, Jr., and her sister, Overeane Rischer.
Faye is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Anna Faye and Steve Turney of Rock Hill, Helen and Chuck Myers of Catawba, and Rita and Mike Armour of Catawba. She is also survived by her five grandchildren: Drew Turney; Stephanie Turney Lipe (Jamie); Mark Armour (Kelly); Katie Armour Starnes (Dalton); and Keli Myers. Her legacy continues through her six great-grandchildren: Gabe Lipe, Turner Lipe, Keegan Starnes, Kayden Starnes, Lex Armour, and Colt Armour. She is also survived by many special nieces and nephews.
Faye retired from Clemson Extension after many years of dedicated service. She was an active member of Catawba Methodist Church and a devoted member of the Farm Bureau Women’s Committee. Faye was known for her strong faith, love for her family, and commitment to serving her community.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Tristyn Vollman, the staff of MSA Home Health & Hospice, and Amada Senior Care for the compassionate care and kindness they showed to Mrs. Faye.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.
A service celebrating the life of Mrs.Lineberger will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Catawba Methodist Church, 4785 College Road, Catawba, SC 29704, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
