Norma Garrett Bell, 89, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, went to be with the Lord on February 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Norma was born on November 21, 1936, in Hamlin, Texas to the late Clarence and Helen Garrett. She dedicated her life to faith, family, and education. Norma earned a degree in education from Bob Jones University and later completed a Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling from Converse University. She taught for many years in the Greenville County School system.
Norma was a faithful member of Edwards Road Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bell.
She is survived by her two children, Michael Bell of Greer, South Carolina, and Tonya Foster (husband Brent) of Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was a devoted grandmother to Scott Bell (wife Tina), Preston Foster (wife Kristen), Annalee Graves (husband Adam), Luke Foster, Emma Foster, and Colson Foster. She is also survived by nieces and a nephew.
Norma will be remembered for her strong faith, her love for her family, and the encouragement she gave to those around her.
Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.
A celebration of life service will be held on March 14, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Edwards Road Baptist Church in Greenville, South Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
