Jessie Beatrice Phillips

Born: May 10, 1940 | Died: October 13, 2025

Jessie Beatrice Phillips born March 10, 1940, went to be with the Lord October 13 while in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was saved at the age of 12 at Beach Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Hack and Cleo Gibson; sisters: Grace Catron, Sue Lawson and Mary Alice Gibson; a brother: Ralph Gibson; a son: Mike Shanks; and a granddaughter; Rebecca Rogers Cole.

She is survived her brother: Ken (Wanda) Gibson; children: Linda (Les) Lowe, Darlene (Paul) Huckaby, Jerry (Elizabeth) Bradley, Sherry Lawson and Angie Jones; grandchildren: Allen Rogers, Jessica Clark, Jason Huckaby, Amanda Shanks, Jarrod Bradley, Joey Gibson, Luke Shanks, Michael Shanks, Dylan Jones and Maggie Morelock; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a very special friend: Jodi Hanson.

The family expresses a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice, Sarah and staff.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in Christian-Sells Chapel with the Rev. Dustin Lamons, the Rev. Brandon Denton and the Rev. Ken Gibson officiating.

Graveside services will be Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. im Highland Cemetery.
