Mr. Jessie James “Dick” Reid, Jr. was born on March 10, 1953, to the late Mr. and Mrs. Jessie James (Assie Ree Jones) Reid, Sr. He entered into rest on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at his residence.

Jessie was educated in the Lincoln County School System. He worked for many years for Mr. John Burke on the powerline crew. Gifted with musical talent, he found joy in singing, dancing, and playing the guitar. He also loved the game of basketball and enjoyed spending time doing what brought him happiness.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Calvin Reid.

He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Angela (Lee) Turner of Lincolnton, GA, and Kimberly Davis of Stone Mountain, Georgia; three sisters, Patricia (James) Hogan and Loretta Willis, both of Lincolnton, GA, and Dorothy (Bobby) Norman of Thomson, GA; six brothers, George Willis of Elberton, GA, Curtis Willis, Frankie Lee Reid, and Eddie James Reid, all of Lincolnton, GA, Charles (Brenda) Willis of Thomson, GA, and Michael Willis of Augusta, GA; five grandchildren, Kentrevais Wright, Jarvis (Amberly) Turner, Antrevais Turner, Marquise Davis and Demetric Davis; two great-grandchildren; an aunt, Lizzie Maddox; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
