Jessie R. Thomas July 4, 1930 ~ September 26, 2025
Jessie R. Thomas died peacefully on September 26, 2025. She was born on July 4, 1930, in Kershaw County, South Carolina. The daughter of Heyward and Rosie Lee Rollings; stepdaughter of Julia Etta Rollings; and sister to Ralph Rollings, Leval Rollings, and Thelma Newton... all deceased. Jessie was united in marriage to Montgomery H. Thomas (Deceased) on November 24, 1951. They had one son, Randy Thomas, from this union whom they loved. Jessie graduated from Carver Vocational High School and received a scholarship to attend Hampton University in Virginia for a year. Upon completion, she attended Morgan State University in Maryland. Jessie was self-employed and worked as a Seamstress. She enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, doing puzzles, and keeping in touch with family and friends. Jessie is survived by her only child, Randy Thomas; granddaughters, Tonya (husband Jonathan) Neal and Dawn Thomas; daughter-in-law, Lillie (Cookie) Thomas; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Jessie wrote the following note to her family and friends: "Love each other and stay well. I loved all of you greatly. Thanks for everything."
