It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Jessie Mae Tucker, who peacefully passed away on July 19th, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on June 10th, 1936, in the charming town of Shiloh, GA, Jessie was the youngest of 12 children born to the late Charles and Rosetta (Rosa) Reedy. She was preceded in death by her siblings, except for her beloved sister, Marie Terry.
Jessie spent most of her life in LaGrange, GA, where her tireless work ethic and unwavering southern hospitality became well known. Her dedication to hard work was matched only by the depth of her love and generosity. To know Jessie was to experience the warmth of her heart and the kindness of her spirit. If you ever had the pleasure of crossing paths with her, you likely left with a full belly and a heart warmed by her genuine affection and care.
Jessie had a unique zest for life, which was evident in her love for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and what the family affectionately called "Trash TV." Her passion for these shows was matched only by her enthusiasm for sharing them with her loved ones.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Phyllis Ann Towns, and son-in-law, Terry Jack Towns, who she loved dearly. Her legacy continues through her three grandsons, Terry Lamar Towns, Stephen Andrew Towns Sr., and Brandon Craig Towns, as well as her 10 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, who will undoubtedly carry forward her spirit of love and laughter.
Jessie Mae Tucker was a woman who believed in giving people their flowers while they could still smell them, a lesson she imparted to everyone she met. Her life was a testament to the power of kindness, love, and a good laugh.
As we say goodbye to Jessie, we celebrate a life well-lived and a woman who left a permanent mark on everyone she met. Her love, humor, and wisdom will be dearly missed but fondly remembered.
