Obituary:
In loving memory of JESSIE ALVIN WATKINS
On June 14, 2024, the world lost a shining light as Jessie Alvin Watkins passed away in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born December 18, 1946, in Henderson Texas. Jessie was known not only for his role as an Assistant Minister at New Light Baptist Church but also for his vibrant and outgoing personality.
Jessie had a passion for cars that was unmatched. Whether tinkering under the hood or simply admiring the beauty of automobiles, his love for cars knew no bounds. However, his greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved family. He cherished every moment shared with his daughters and grandchildren, creating lasting memories that will forever be treasured.
The services to honor and celebrate Jessie's life will be held at Golden Gate Funeral Home and Cremation in Fort Worth on June 21, 2024. The Viewing will take place from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM followed by a Wake Service at New Light Baptist Church from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be held at New Light Baptist Church on June 22, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
Jessie Alvin Watkins leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith to be cherished by his loving wife Willie Watkins, his three daughters: (“Jessie’s girls”) Michelle (Paul) Settecase, Latasha (William) Keys, Andrea (Salathiel) Ceaser; 7 grandchildren: Andrew Settecase, Jessica Settecase, Joseph Settecase, Nicholas Bradley, Jalen Keys, Delante Keys and Tijon Ceaser; two siblings: Leon Watkins and Shirley (Anthony) Watkins-Dickerson; three nephews: Erinn (Caitlyn) Watkins, Anthony Dickerson, Jr. and Dereon Dickerson; a niece: Denise Watkins and a host of cousins, relatives, friends, and church family.. While our hearts may be heavy with grief at his passing, we find solace in knowing that he touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
