Jessimae Driver Lester

Born to Life March 8, 1931

Born to Eternal Life February 1, 2026

She was the lineage of Jesse Driver and Nancy Wood Driver, pioneers of Haralson County, who were instrumental in the founding and supporting of Liberty Christian Church, Jessimae was born in Buchannan. She was the only child of Duffie Driver and Veda McClung Driver.

She was married to David William (Bill) Lester in 1954 and joined him in the Baptist faith, later becoming a member of Calvary Temple. At her death she was a member of Church of the Apostles in Atlanta.

Jessimae was the loving mother of David Matthew Lester and Janis Ashley Wozniak and was the "Gran'Mama" of Reid Carter Wozniak. She was the Mother-in-Law of Todd Wozniak and Kerin Lester whom she held dear. She is survived by all of her immediate family.

Jessimae attended Bremen City Schools and graduated from Buchanan High School in 1947, completing her high school in three years. She attended college in Nashville, Tennessee while being associated with Vaughn Music Company.

After raising her family, she briefly worked for CBS Records in Carrollton This was followed by working for the State of Georgia for 30 years, retiring from the Department of Medical Assistance as an Executive Assistant at the age of 80 in 2013.

She leaves behind her family whom she loved without measure as well as many friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

Services will be Graveside on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 2:00 pm from Liberty Christian Cemetery with Dr. Hunter Roe officiating. Matt Lester, Reid Wozniak, Blair Watson, Dan Dunsmore, James Grable and Neil Arnold will serve as Pallbearers.
