It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Jesus Jose Flores. He was lovingly known by his friends and family as Chuy. Jesus was born in Santa Barbara, Chihuahua to Roman and Estefana Flores. His family moved to El Paso when Jesus was a child. Jesus' education began at Zavala Elementary and then attended Thomas Jefferson High School.
With our County in the midst of the Vietnam War, Jesus enlisted into the United States Army in June of 1969 as he saw this as the best way to help provide for his family. In the Army, Jesus was deployed to Vietnam where he was recognized with a National Defense Service Metal, a Vietnam Service Metal with two Bronze Service Stars, and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Metal. Upon completing his Vietnam Tour of Duty, he returned to the States only to reenlist as a Navy Reservist. Jesus then transitioned to civilian life, working in the booming El Paso maquila industry for several years, where he made many friends. He then spent the next 20+ years in the position he was probably better known for, a Washer and Dryer Team Foreman and Mechanic at Washer Leasing Service until he retired.
Jesus married Francisca Flores in August of 1972 and is survived by his three children, Estela, Carlos and Jessica. Chuy's favorite role in life was that of a grandfather and is also survived by his five beloved grandchildren: Ivan, Xavier, Christopher, Alxis and Ameli.
Jesus was a kind and loving, disciplined, man of authority. He was loved by everyone around him and was willing to help those in need. Chuy's greatest attribute was his willingness to continually be a provider and a pillar of support to his family or anyone he thought he could help. He was the oldest of his siblings, and at one point or another cared and loved each and every one of them. He is also survived by his brothers: Ramon, Ernesto, Alberto, and predeceased by Adelaido. Sisters: Concha, Alicia, Guadalupe, and Rachel.
Jesus was a warrior at heart and fought for our county and freedom and did so with no hesitation. When faced with his last battle he again fought with all he had. On Tuesday, October 7th, 2025 at approximately 8pm, Jesus passed, surrounded by his loving family.
We find comfort in knowing that our dad is now resting in peace and has reunited with our beloved mom. His legacy lives on through all the lessons he taught us and the love he shared and the memories we will cherish forever.
