Jesus P. Garcia, affectionately known as Mr. Jesse, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025, at the age of 88. He was born on November 5, 1936, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Estanislado and Erlinda Garcia.
Jesus was married to his devoted wife, Maria, on October 30, 1965. Together, they raised a loving family. He is survived by his children: Carlos Garcia and his wife Carolina, Jesus D. Garcia and his wife Novella, Amparo Garcia, and Tanis Garcia and his wife Erika. He also leaves behind a cherished legacy through his grandchildren: LeMarkus Garcia, Jessie Christina Garcia, Dannie Garcia, Frankie Garcia, Ethan Garcia, and Evan Garcia.
He is also survived by his sisters, Mary Garrett and Beatriz Hemphill, and his brothers, David Ortega, Ray Ortega, and Isaias Ortega, along with many nieces and nephews.
A devout Catholic, Jesus was known for his hard work, sense of humor, and sometimes grumpy demeanor. He loved fishing, playing golf, enjoying card games with friends, and indulging in meals from Whataburger.
A Mass in his honor will be held at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in McKinney on Wednesday, September 10, at 10:00 AM, followed by a reception in the Church Hall.
Jesus will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
