Jewil B. Schaefer of Wales passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at the age of 78. He was born in Marshfield, WI on April 17, 1945 the son of Joseph and Hazel (nee Krause) Schaefer. Jewil proudly served his country in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ashtabula in combat during the Vietnam war. On October 24, 1969 he married his loving wife, Sue (Storlie) Schaefer. He was wholly devoted to his wife for 54 years of marriage. Jewil was an employee at Waukesha Engine for 47 years as a machinist. However, due to his love of fast cars, he could only commit to owning a car for two years. He loved listening to Elvis and was an excellent cook (his Thanksgiving gravy will be greatly missed). Jewil was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed long road trips with pit stops at the casino and taking fishing trips to Canada with Rick, his friends and his two sons, Troy and Jimmie. He was selfless and generous, always taking care of those around him and making sure others had more than him. He will always be remembered for his spontaneity, being an extremely likable guy with a generous heart and as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He will be sadly and forever missed by his beloved wife, Sue, their two sons, Troy (Jennifer) Schaefer and Jimmie (Marcy) Schaefer; and his cherished grandchildren, Kolby, Jayden, Maddux, Veda Jewil and Mira. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Michael (Sandy) Storlie, Julie Kutschenreuter, Tom English, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Barbara (Jim) VanWilligan and sister-in-law Marilyn English.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until the 12:00 noon funeral service at Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. Entombment with full military honors will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
