Jill Ellen (Reichart) Ellerman, 62, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, MO. She was born December 30, 1962 in Horton, KS, the daughter of Raymond "Gene" and Betsy "Jane" (Turner) Reichart.

Jill graduated from ACCHS in 1981 and from NEKA Vo-Tech in Atchison, KS after 2 years.

She worked 20 years for Lowry & Johnson Law Office as a Legal Secretary and as the secretary for Valley Falls/Coal Creek United Methodist Churches for 10 years. With her husband, Carl, Jill delivered the Topeka Capital Journal for many years in Nortonville and Valley Falls.

Jill was an active and life-time member of Coal Creek United Methodist Church; serving as Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, treasurer and Administrative Board Chair.

Jill enjoyed her flower garden, working in the yard and baking.

She married Carl Levi Ellerman, Jr. on November 11, 1994 at Coal Creek United Methodist Church in Valley Falls, KS. They celebrated over 30 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband, Carl of the home; 2 brothers, Jeffrey R. Reichart (Beverly) of Valley Falls, KS and Neill J. Reichart (Bobbi) of Alma, KS and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Jane Reichart and an infant brother, Thomas Turner Reichart.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at Coal Creek United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Coal Creek Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Memorials may be given to the Coal Creek United Methodist Church or Coal Creek Cemetery c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 270, Holton, KS 66436.
