Jill Groll Thomson, born May 9, 1952, passed away on July 27, 2025, after experiencing cardiac arrest. She was 73 years old.

Jill was the daughter of Agnes and Bill Groll, and she grew up with a deep love for the arts, animals, and the simple joys of life. She married Jim Thomson in 1973, and together they built a loving family filled with creativity, laughter, and warmth. They called the Jemez Mountains home for over 50 years.

Jill was a gifted artist who found joy in painting and drawing, and she had a keen eye for antiques and beautiful old things. Music was always playing in the background of her life, and her beloved dogs and cats were never far from her side.

She was witty, direct, and always funny. Jill loved fiercely and lived fully, and she brought comfort and laughter to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Jim, her children, Ivy and Will, daughter-in-law Alexandra Maska-Thomson, son-in-law Wesley Wrye, Sister Barbara Milligan and her two cherished granddaughters, Bailey and Macey.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Madonna Hall in Jemez Springs, New Mexico. Friends and family are invited to come share memories, stories, and love. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Jemez Valley Animal Amigos.
