Jill Marie Wallace (nee Graves) passed away on October 19, 2025, in Valencia, PA following a multi-decade battle with Multiple Sclerosis. She was born in Dover, Ohio on April 26, 1945, to Russell and Charlotte Graves, now deceased. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jim, as well as her sons, Ben Wallace of Saint Paul, MN (Emily) and Sam Wallace of Athens, OH, her daughter, Mandy Schneck of Gibsonia, PA (Mike), and her sister, Karen Armstong of Dover, OH (Tom). She is also survived by her grandchildren Joey, Kylie and Sam Schneck and Henry and Tulla Wallace.
Jill was a remarkable person. She adored her children and her grandchildren. She taught at Mansfield Malabar High School, Mansfield, Ohio; Whitefish Bay High School, Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, and Noblesville Middle School, Noblesville, Ohio. She coached cheerleaders at Malabar and Whitefish Bay, as well as basketball in Hudson, Ohio. Over the years, she taught classes at the YMCA's in Columbus and Centerville, Ohio. She absolutely loved working with kids everywhere she lived. A huge fan of athletics, Jill and Jim cofounded the Duke Pride booster club in Whitefish Bay, WI. Jill also taught English as a second language to immigrants and worked with emotionally challenged children.
She graduated from Dover High School in Ohio, in 1963, where she was in the band, was a majorette, and the drum major as a senior. She also performed in Oklahoma as Adoo Annie. She graduated from Wittenberg University, Springfield, Ohio in 1967. At Wittenberg, she was a varsity cheerleader and was on the dance team, Syncopates. She was also a member of the Wittenberg Union board, Kappa Delta sorority, and the Shifters.
She left this world a much better place, and we will all miss her love, friendship, kindness, terrific demeanor, and tremendous sense of humor. She always saw the best in everyone and was kind to everyone she encountered. She viewed life as a wonderful adventure and passed that attitude on to her children and those she taught. Through many moves around the country, her motto was always "Let's go get lost!"
A celebration of her life will be scheduled at a later date.
