Jim Borchardt Obituary

Jim dedicated 25 years of distinguished service to the Wheeling Police Department. He was known for his unwavering commitment to public safety, his leadership, and his mentorship. Over the years, he trained and inspired many members of the department, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community alike.
Jim was a devoted public servant whose legacy of leadership and integrity will forever be a part of our department. His contributions were immeasurable, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew and worked with him.
Private family services will be held on Wednesday morning, April 23, 2025. The Family Procession will depart from Kolssak Funeral Home at 12:00 p.m., proceeding down Dundee Road to Community Boulevard, The Family Procession will pause in front of the Wheeling Police Station before concluding at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 181 W. Dundee Road, Wheeling, IL.
- Public Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
- Officer Walk Thru 3:00 pm
- Visitation Continues Until 5:30 pm
- Life Celebration Service 5:30 pm
- Post Service Visitation 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (2 Blocks South of Dundee Road) Wheeling.
- Cremation Private.
In lieu of flowers donations to The American Heart Association or donate to the Wheeling Police Unity Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

The entire Open Pantry Team shares in the sadness of this tragic loss. We care for and respect Justin so entirely, that his pain is also ours. May God give him strength to take on the roll of leading the Borchardt family in a manner that his brother would be proud.
