James Virgil Fryman of Potosi, Missouri departed this life on January 23, 2014 at the Potosi Manor Nursing Home having reached the age of sixty two years, nine months and twenty eight days. He was born on March 26, 1951 in Goodland, Missouri a son to the late Virgil Fryman and Eunice (Harbison) Fryman. Jim was a member of the Potosi Elks Lodge #2218 and the Eagles of Iron County. He loved playing basketball in his school years and played for the Valley Vikings. After high school, he worked for Elsey Motor Company, Bill Fryman Auto Sales and the Potosi Correctional Center. Jim loved drag racing in his younger years and was very proud of his 1964 Chevy Nova. He also loved Nascar Racing. Some of his favorite pastimes were being outdoors for any reason, camping, hunting or just riding in the woods. He was a friend to all and will be missed by many. Jim is survived by a daughter Angie Glynn; a brother Bill Fryman and wife Phyllis of Potosi; two sisters Charlene Rayfield and husband Dean of Imperial, Jeffalene Gunning and husband Tom of Chesterfield; granddaughter Sadie; a special friend Darrell Sadler and wife Lana of Belgrade and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 12 Noon at the DeClue Chapel with Elder Leonard Compton officiating. Honoring Jim by serving as Pallbearers were J.T. Hochstatter, Jeff Hochstatter, Jeff Krus, Greg Krus, Jerry Fryman and Miles Fryman. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Gary Harbison, Darrell Sadler and Ronnie Fryman. Interment and final prayers were held at the Ottery Creek Cemetery. All arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the DeClue Funeral Home.
