Jimmie Lynn Bond (Sullivan,) 71, passed away at her daughter's home in Athens, Texas, on January 17, 2023. She was born on July 22, 1951, in Mabank, Texas, to parents James Verbal and Oleta Faye Sullivan.
Jimmie, aka Mama and Granny, was the most amazing cook you could ever ask for, and all from scratch! She loved the Lord and spent most of her free time reading the Bible, listening to worship music, and watching sermons. She loved bargains and was comping and couponing before it was cool. She loved to witness and bring people to church. She and Danny were always willing to open their home to those in need, even when their resources were slim. Jimmie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and would do anything for her kids and grandkids. She also loved her many pets, mainly dogs, throughout her life. Her precious Farrah passed just before her, and she leaves behind Jackie and Cheryl. Jimmie is very loved and will be greatly missed. The family is happy to know she is made whole and new in Glory!
She is survived by daughter DeeDee Tapp and husband Carl and their children James Jennings IV, Alyssa Jennings, and Carlee Tapp; son James Bond; granddaughter Julia Ventura; great-granddaughter Sophia Caldera; sister Beverly Black; brothers Johnny (Dooley) Sullivan and James Don Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews.
Jimmie is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Danny Bond; her father James Verbal Sullivan, her mother Oleta Faye Sullivan; sister Geraldine Johnson, and brother Ronnie Sullivan.
Senior Pastor Matt Faircloth with Alpha Baptist Church in Seven Points, Texas, will officiate for the Bond family.
Pallbearers are James Jennings IV, James Jennings III, Jacob Black, and Joshua Black.
