Obituary of Jimmie D. Keys
Jimmie (Jim) Dale Keys, Sr, age 75, of Simi Valley, CA, died Saturday, April 30, 2022, in West Hills, CA.
He was born December 7, 1946, in Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Alvin Jack Keys and Dora Amanda Huntsman Keys. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Etta Mae (Bernice) Huntsman Brigham, Betty Sue Keys Hagins and Doris Mae Keys Wierschem and three brothers, Jerry Alvin Keys, Richard Leon Keys and William Boyed Keys.
Jim was a loving and devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandpa (papa), brother and uncle. He lived in Combs, AR until 1951 when his family moved to Venice, CA. This is where he grew up. He served in the US Army (1967-1970) and trained as a Paratrooper. He met his wife Lisa in 1994 at her Canyon Country home and was her birthday present from her daughter Marcia and nephew Christopher. Jim was a great provider for his family as an aerospace machinist and then building microderm abrasion machines for a small company in Camarillo, where he finally retired. He loved to work around the house, work on cars, and go on bike rides with his brother Ted at Venice Beach. He cherished those moments. Jim was always willing and able to help his family, friends and neighbors when needed. You just had to say the word and Jim was there. He had the best sense of humor and was the kindest person anyone would want to know or be around. Most of all, he was proud of his family. He didn't care if they were blood-related or not. They were still his children and grandchildren and were all treated the same.
Jim is survived by his wife of a short 22 years, Lisa G Simons Loebel Keys, his two puppies, Daisey & Rosie; three daughters, Christina "Tina" Keys of Vancouver, WA, Amy Calloway & her husband Chris of Olympia, WA and Marcia Gillette & her husband Kenny of Lake Los Angeles, CA; two sons, Jimmie Keys Jr & his wife Jennifer of Tacoma, WA and Marc Loebel & his wife Jennifer of Simi Valley, CA; and his brother Teddy Keys & wife Robin of Canyon Country, CA. Jim also leaves behind so many grandchildren, Austin Keys, Mason Keys, Jayden Keys, Alexandria Wilson, Jackson Wilson, Alyssa Gillette, Robert Gillette, Matthew Gillette, Blake Loebel, Skylar Loebel, Madison Loebel, Ava Loebel, Ava Calloway, and Tucker Peel. Jim had many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins that he was also very proud of and to be called his family. He was blessed.
Services are pending at the VA Cemetary.
