Jim Krahulec

1927 - 2024

Jim Krahulec, known affectionately as Jimmie Myire Krahulec, passed away on February 1, 2024, at the age of 96 in Winchester, Indiana. Born on August 2, 1927, in Sullivan County, Farmersburg, Indiana, to proud parents Frank and Wortha (Correl) Krahulec, Jim's life journey was marked by service, dedication, and a deep love for his community.
After bravely serving as an airplane mechanic in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Jim dedicated 35 years of his life to Anchor Hocking Glass Co. His commitment and hard work garnered him respect within the industry and left a lasting legacy.
Jim's devotion extended beyond his professional life. He received official recognition from the American Legion for an impressive 70 years of continuous service, including a term as Post 39 Commander. His commitment to service reflected his values and patriotism.
In his personal life, Jim faced the challenges of loss with grace, preceded in death by his parents, first wife Elsie Sanders, second wife, Betty Salyers McCoy, brother, Billy Jack Krahulec, and stepson, Dave McCoy. He is survived by his loving sons, Monte Krahulec of Wolcottville, IN, Scott McCoy of Winchester, IN, and daughter, Jody Fennig of Portland, IN. Jim's legacy lives on through five generations of children and grandchildren.
Jim was a beloved figure in the community, in his younger years he was active in Winchester's club basketball scene. Throughout his life he was an avid hunter, fisher and excellent golfer. His warm personality and genuine care for others endeared him to all who knew him. In the face of life's adversities, Jim's resilience and positive spirit shone brightly.
Funeral services to celebrate Jim's life will be held at Walker Funeral Home in Winchester on February 6th. Visitation will take place from 12 noon to 1 PM, followed by the services at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations or contributions to a cause of individual choice in Jim's memory.
