Jimmie William Pohorelsky Jr

Funeral services for Jimmie Pohorelsky Jr., 76 of Giddings, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings with Father Steve Sauser officiating. Burial will follow in the Giddings City Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 10:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 7:00 a.m. until 8:00 a.m. at Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings. A Rosary will be recited Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral Home.
Jimmie William Pohorelsky Jr. was born on March 14, 1949 in Brenham, Texas, the son of Jimmie William Pohorelsky Sr. and Milady (Cepcar) Pohorelsky. After graduating from high school Jimmie joined the United States Navy as a medic. After being Honorably discharged Jimmie entered the field of Railroad Maintenance work for Union Pacific and retired after 25 years of service. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church in Giddings. Jimmie was united in marriage to his wife Lynidean Zimmerhanzel Pohorelsky on October 19, 1991 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in String Prairie, Texas. Together they had six children. He had many hobbies, going to Louisiana, watching horse races and hunting, but above all he loved spending time with family and friends.
Jimmie passed away the morning of Friday, July 18, 2025 at Ascension Seton in Bastrop.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie William Pohorelsky Sr. and Milady (Cepcar) Pohorelsky and a little brother.
Jimmie Pohorelsky is survived by his wife, Lynidean Pohorelsky of Giddings; his children and spouses, Jimmie William Pohorelsky III and wife Marsha of Timpson, Nicole Padgett and husband David of Giddings, Robin Pohorelsky of Giddings, TJ Pohorelsky and wife Kelly of Bryan, Tanya Lopez and husband Jaime of Brownwood, Michael Frerich and significant other Chelsea of Bastrop; grandchildren, Miladie Pohorelsky of Timpson, Hadlie Pohorelsky of Timpson, Cody Padgett of Giddings, Paige Anderson and husband James of Brenham, Emily Reese Pohorelsky of Timpson, Ethan Jon Pohorelsky of Bryan, Adrian Gonzales of Deboli, Alexis Lopez and significant other Colby Estarza of Dallas, Austin Lopez and significant other Ashlyn Gleghorn of Mason, Caleb Frerich of Smithville; great grandchildren, AJ and Lenny Gonzales, Ralynne Glegnorn; step sister, Carol McCowan of Giddings.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jimmie Pohorelsky III, TJ Pohorelsky, Michael Frerich, Jaime Lopez, AJ Zimmerhanzel, and Teddy Ziats.
