Mr. Jimmy K. Boone, age 83
Of McEwen, TN passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at his home. He was born March 17, 1941, in Lackawanna, New York.
Jimmy, affectionately known as Pop, was a lifelong resident of McEwen that truly loved his town. He enjoyed going to town in the mornings for coffee with the guys and getting the daily paper to see what was going on around Tennessee and the world.
Throughout his life, Jimmy exemplified hard work and commitment. His professional career spanned several decades, including roles at Consolidated Aluminum for 23 years, Hubbs Construction for 19 years, and the City of McEwen for 17 years. Upon reaching the age of 81, Jimmy made the decision to retire, marking the end of an era in his illustrious career. However, his legacy lives on through the work he accomplished and the relationships he cultivated along the way.
Jimmy loved it when it was “football time in Tennessee”! If the Vols were playing, you could bet Pop was watching. After football season, he eagerly awaited NASCAR racing’s return. Pop also enjoyed mowing the yard, going out to eat, and spending time with his family.
Throughout his journey, Jimmy's proudest accomplishments stemmed from his unwavering devotion to his family. He was a true family man who poured his heart and soul into ensuring the well-being and happiness of his loved ones. He was known by many, loved by all, and will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:30pm Friday, May 31st and 10:00am until service time Saturday, June 1st at Humphreys County Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Mr. Jimmy will be conducted at 12:00pm Saturday, June 1, 2024, in the Humphreys County Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Eddings officiating. The services will be informal and those attending are welcome to wear jeans and a Vols or NASCAR shirt.
