Jimmy Cash

Jimmy Cash, age 84, of
Rudeseal Road, Mt. Airy,
Ga., passed away Friday,
July 14, 2023 at his resi-
dence with his loving fam-
ily by his side.
A son of the late John
and Mamie Whitehead
Cash, he was born Feb. 19,
1939 in Stephens County,
Ga., having lived in Mt.
Airy for the last 15 years.
He was employed with the
Norfolk Southern Railroad
having retired with 25
years of service. He was a
member of Calvary Baptist
Church and enjoyed being
outside. Jimmy was a lov-
ing husband, father,
grandfather and great-
grandfather. He was pre-
ceded in death by his par-
ents, John and Mamie
Whitehead Cash, three
brothers, Joe, J.B. and
Jack Cash and three sis-
ters, Patsy Chatham, Jean
McCollum and Jeanette
Pritchett.
Survivors include his
wife of 65 years, Ann
Floyd Cash of the home;
daughter and son-in-law:,
Deborah and Michael Sim-
mons of Mt. Airy; four
granddaughters, Chasity
Simmons, April Simmons,
Amber Simmons, Tiffany
Jill Fields and her hus-
band Chad, all of Mt. Airy;
two great-grandsons, Mav-
erick Guy Fields and Cash
Eli Fields; brother and sis-
ter-in-law, Bobby and Lin-
da Cash of Toccoa; a num-
ber of nieces and nephews
also survive.
Funeral services were
held at 4 p.m. Sunday,
July 16, 2023 in the Hill-
crest Chapel of the Acree-
Davis Funeral Home with
his pastor, the Rev. Chad
Watson officiating. The
following gentlemen
served as pallbearers:
Michael Simmons, Chad
Fields, Charles "Bud" Jar-
rett, Ray LeCroy, Bo Bar-
rett and Bo Sharretts.
The family received
friends at the Acree-Davis
Funeral Home on Sunday,
July 16, 2023 from 2 p.m.
