Jimmy Dale Caviness February 12, 1964 – October 7, 2025

Jimmy Dale Caviness, born in Cleveland, Texas, lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. On October 7, 2025, he left this world surrounded by the legacy of family and memories that will never fade.

Jimmy was the kind of man who made you feel at home the moment you met him. He had a deep love for the outdoors - whether casting a line into quiet waters, tracking through the woods, or firing up the grill for one of his legendary cookouts. But above all, Jimmy loved his people. His family was his world, and he wore that devotion like a badge of honor.

He is preceded in death by his beloved daughter Emily Caviness; his parents, Roy and Ella Caviness; and his brother, Roy Lee Caviness. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Lanora Caviness; his children, Zackary Caviness and Hannah Caviness; his brother Michael Lee Caviness and wife Brenda; Holly Caviness, mother of Zack, Hannah, and Emily; his second parents, David and Cindy Kocks; and his father-in-law, Melton Hamblet. Each of them carries a piece of Jimmy's spirit - his warmth, his humor, and his fierce loyalty.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett, Texas. It's a fitting tribute to a man who served his country and his family with pride.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Zackary and Hannah's college fund - a gesture Jimmy would've deeply appreciated, knowing it helps fuel the future of those he loved most.

Jimmy Dale Caviness lived big, loved hard, and cooked like a champion. He'll be missed more than words can say, but his stories, his laughter, and his legacy will live on.

Pallbearers:
