In loving memory of Jimmy Weldon Cawthron, 86, who passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Lubbock, Texas. Jim was born to Drue Weldon and Jessie Jewel Cawthron of Colorado City in 1937.
After graduating from high school in Colorado City, Jim graduated from Sul Ross State University with a teaching degree and was a coach for 8 years. He then went to work for Rip Griffin Travel Centers. Jim married Carolyn Reynolds Brumley in 1975 and gained his 4 sons. After retirement, Jim enjoyed many years on the golf course and bowling with friends before his health began to decline.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Cawthron and sons Warren Brumley of Ruskin Florida, Neal Brumley (Jan) of Lubbock, Gary Brumley (Ako) of Beaverton, Oregon, and Mark Brumley (Jennifer) of Asheville, North Carolina as well as 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
His memorial service will be held Saturday, September 30th, at 10am at Combest Family Funeral Home.
