James "Jimmy" Clark Day, age 82, of Byhalia, MS, passed away at his home on Thursday, March 26, 2026. He was born in Memphis, TN on September 2, 1943 to the late Fred B. and Loraine (Long) Day. There will be a visitation be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 5:00 pm at Coleman Funeral Home of Olive Branch.

Jimmy was born on September 2, 1943, in Memphis, TN. Jimmy prided himself on the quality work he did remodeling homes in the area for many years. He was also a musician in his early years, playing piano and singing with several bands in the area, specifically Jimmy Day and the Knights. Jimmy enjoyed farm animals and tending to his garden. His family remembers him as having a good relationship with the Lord, enjoying mission work in Belize, El Salvador and Mexico where he installed wells. He also enjoyed learning how to fly planes and bought a couple of "project" planes to work on in his spare time.

In addition to his parents, Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, Frankie (James) Day.

Jimmy will be missed by his daughters, Adrienne Jackson and Leila Pfeffer; grandchildren, Sasha Jackson, TJ Jackson, Caleb Jackson, Alayna Jones, Georgia Henderson (Elijah), Rachael Lester (Christopher Blackwell); three great-grandchildren, Esther Henderson, Benjamin Jones, Maya Blackwell; siblings, Fred Day, Mike Day (Alice), Dianna Richards (Dan), Jeannie Day Warren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of traditional flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the charity of one's choice.
