Jimmy L. Doyle

Jimmy L. Doyle, 81, Swayzee, passed away at 2:49 pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in his home. He was born on June 1, 1944, in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, to Thomas and Ercie (Hunt) Doyle. On December 3, 1967, Jimmy married the love of his life, Theresa Fleenor.
Jimmy graduated from Marion High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he dedicated over four decades to his career as a machine cleaner, working with General Motors and then at Meijer for 14 years before retiring. He was a proud member of Christland United Methodist Church.
A man of many interests, Jimmy was an avid reader of fiction and enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He also loved playing casino games on Facebook and trying his luck with the Hoosier Lottery and Powerball.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Theresa Doyle, and his children: Jimmy L. (Marcy) Doyle Jr., Fort Wayne, IN; Jason P. (Brandy) Doyle, Mason, OH; Jami L. (Kevin) Grewe, Mishawaka, IN; Jennifer E. (Jeremy) Nei, Carmel, IN. He was a proud grandfather to six granddaughters: Lauren A. Grewe, Lindsey M. Grewe, Elly M. Doyle, Emma K. Doyle, Anna I. Doyle, and Emmy G. Nei, and three grandsons: Eric M. Doyle, Hugh C. Bell, and Asher W. Doyle.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ercie Doyle; brothers, Hildreth L. Doyle, William "Bobby" T. Doyle, and Tommy Allen Doyle, Sr.; and sisters, Lucy Reed and Betty L. Corey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
A celebration of Jimmy's life will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 am at North Chapel, with Pastor Phil Lake officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
