In Loving Memory of Jimmy "Craig" Fielding April 23, 1947 – July 9, 2025 Jimmy "Craig" Fielding entered this world on April 23, 1947, in Thomasville, Georgia, and peacefully passed into the arms of his Savior in the early morning hours of July 9, 2025, surrounded by his devoted wife and loving family. Craig was raised in Meigs, Georgia, by his beloved late grandmother, Fronnie Fleetwood. At age 16, he moved to Florida to live with his late uncle and cousins, where he began his working life as a barber in Titusville. His life took a new direction on February 16, 1971, when he began a dedicated 28-year career with the Brevard County Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff, retiring in December 1999. Retirement didn't keep Craig away from service for long. Just five years later, he returned to the department as a crew supervisor at the Sheriff's Farm. Beginning in March 1994, he also proudly served as a deputy officer and security personnel at the Space Coast Stadium, providing security during spring training seasons for the Florida Marlins and Washington Nationals until his retirement in April 2016 due to a stroke. Craig's dedication to law enforcement was only matched by his passion for life. Outside of his badge, he was a man of many hobbies. He was a gardener, a proud caretaker of his yard and landscaping projects, and a lover of travel-often found at his second home in Georgetown, Georgia. He enjoyed playing volleyball and racquetball with family and never missed a chance to gather around the card table for poker night. Craig was rarely seen without a camera in hand, capturing life's special moments and scenic adventures. By day, he served his community; by night, he was the casino king. Craig's presence was magnetic-anyone who met him gained a friend for life. He had an innate ability to find the good in everyone and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Theresa Fielding; his son, Jimmy C. Fielding Jr., and wife Leighanne; his brother, David Fielding (Atlanta, GA); and sister, Diana Fielding (Ochlocknee, GA). He also leaves behind brother-in-law Gene Roberts (Anita), and sisters-in law Tina Roberts and Connie Roberts. His cherished nieces and nephews include Gene Roberts III (Angela, Austin, Ethan), Michelle Walker (Aaron, Taylor, Avery), Amanda Fischbeck (Ben, Skylar, Cashlyn), Rachael McClure (Dustin, Madilyn, Grayson), Tarah Wallace (Stephen, Novella), Greg McAvoy (Leslie, Kyndall, Blake), Bradley McAvoy, and Johnny Lee Roberts (Shaye, Lane, Grace). Craig was preceded in death by his grandmother, Fronnie Fleetwood; his parents; his sister, Gwen Abraham; and his brother-in-law, Johnny Roberts. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, at 3:00 PM at North Brevard Funeral Home in Titusville, Florida.
