Jimmy Lee Gulley was born on October 3, 1944, in Bluff City, AR to the late Homer Henry Gulley and Brodie Mae Ingram- Gulley. Jimmy passed away on Friday, October 31st at his home in Bluff City, AR.
Jimmy joined St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Bluff City at an early age. Jimmy later was one of the founding members of the gospel group “ The Sensational Bright Stars of Bluff City, AR”. Jimmy played the tenor guitar. The group recorded three albums.
Jimmy had various jobs over his lifetime. Jimmy and his brother Henry worked in the pulpwood industry for many years. Jimmy retired from Firestone Building Products after 40 years.
Jimmy loved his family. He was a die-hard Razorback, Chiefs, and Forty-Niners fan. He enjoyed driving his truck, often going places just to be able to drive, until his health failed.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father Homer Henry Gulley, his mother Brodie Mae Gulley, brothers Henry Lee Gulley (Clara), and Earnest Gulley (Margaret).
Jimmy leaves to cherish his memory one daughter Tammy Gulley of Bluff City, AR. Two granddaughters Jasmine Bailey (Paul) of Marion, AR and Jakena Newborn of Bluff City, AR. Two nephews Michael Gulley of Camden, AR and Rufus Gulley (Nika) of Wake Village, TX. One niece Tina Ellis of Magnolia, AR. Two great nephews, Kenneth Ellis, LaMichael Gulley, and four great nieces, Lydia Gulley, Shamya Gulley, Olivia Ellis, and Taylor Ellis. Jimmy had numerous other extended family members, whom he loved.

Pallbearers will be Michael Gulley, Rufus Gulley, Randolf Gulley, Willie Gulley, Paul Bailey, and Jody Ray Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Wallace Ingram, Willie Gulley Jr., Ellis Blake, Clifton Dansby, Jr., Clinton Mark, Jr., Charles Marks, Sr.
Visitation will be from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home, Arkadelphia. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Howard, officiant. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery in Bluff City, Arkansas.
