Jimmy Hayes

James "Jimmy" Arnold Hayes, passed away January 8th, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hewitt and Margaret Hayes, one brother, Hewitt Edwin Hayes, Jr., adopted son, Freddie Hayes, and brother-in-law, Michael Harmon. He is survived by his son, William (Jessica) Hayes and two grandsons, Alex and Carter, adopted daughter, Linda Lou Johnson, granddaughter, Sherry Pickett, and four sisters, Edwin Ann (Elgan) Usrey, Linda Carol Hayes-Harmon, Mary Margaret (Phillip) Freeze, and Martha Louise (Billy) Faulkner, five nieces and one nephew. After graduating from Tullahoma High School, he joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon returning to the U.S., he enrolled at MTSU and graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration. He was the manager of the Space Age Drive In until its closure. When his sister Linda Carol's husband passed away, he moved to Orlando to help her with her First Impressions Cleaning Service. Many years later, as his health began to decline he became dependent on his sister and the VA for his care. He was placed on Hospice Care in the fall of 2023 and gradually deteriorated due to his diabetes until his death on the 8th of January. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16th, 2025 from 4:00-6:00pm at Kilgore Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 17th, 2025 at 11:00am at the John Lay Cemetery in Ethridge, Tennessee.
