Jimmy Curtis Lewis Jr. passed away at his home on August 2, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on September 1, 1956, in Pryor Oklahoma to Jimmy and Patty Lewis. Jimmy dedicated many years of his life to hazardous cleanup, showcasing his commitment to keeping the environment safe and clean. Working in various locations for 18 years, Jimmy returned to his hometown of Pryor in 1999 where he eventually decided to retire a decade ago. He married Cheryl Moore on August 6, 1976 in Pryor. They would have celebrated 48 years of marriage this month. In his retirement, he found joy in spending time with his grandchildren, particularly by encouraging their participation in sports and other activities and going to watch them play.
A talented cook, he often delighted his family with a wide array of delicious recipes which he lovingly passed down to his grandchildren. The grandchildren knew that when they spent the night they would wake up to one of his famous ham, egg and cheese croissants. They looked so forward to one of his many delicious dinners of a homemade meat pie, jambalaya or his awesome taco feast. One of Jimmy's cherished memories was an unforgettable Amtrak journey with his wife, Cheryl and their three daughters from Little Rock, Arkansas to North Dakota where they met up with his parents. From there they drove through Yellowstone and ended up at Mt. Rushmore. This adventure allowed him to bask in the beauty of nature and create lasting memories along the way. Throughout his life, Jimmy had a deep love for sports, both as a player during his youth and as an avid spectator cheering on his beloved grandchildren during their games. His enthusiasm for athletics brought joy not only to himself but also to those around him. Jimmy is survived by his loving family and friends who will forever cherish the memories created with such a kind-hearted and dedicated individual.
